Key Point: ButterFly processes ALL data locally on your device. We do not collect, store, or transmit your browsing history, blacklisted keywords, or any personal browsing data to our servers.

  • Email address: Only collected when you make a purchase. Used solely for license verification.
  • Device ID: A randomly generated identifier to manage device limits (up to 3 per license)
  • Usage statistics: Local-only count of deletions to show you the value provided

Data We DO NOT Collect

  • Your browsing history
  • Your blacklisted keywords or sites
  • Any content you view or interact with
  • Your IP address for tracking purposes

How Your Data Is Processed

All blacklist matching and history deletion happens entirely on your local device using Chrome's built-in APIs. Your blacklist never leaves your browser.

Third-Party Services

We use Stripe for payment processing. When you make a purchase, Stripe receives your payment information directly. We never see or store your full credit card details.

Service Description

ButterFly is a browser extension that helps users manage their browsing history by automatically removing entries matching user-defined keywords or domains.

Important Disclaimer: Butterfly is provided "AS IS" without any warranties. If your computer starts to self-ignite, that's not our problem. If aliens decide to abduct you, also not our problem. We are a small development team that puts maximum effort into ensuring the cybersecurity and reliability of this app, but legally we can't take on risks — otherwise we'd need to raise the price. This isn't to scare you, it's to protect us from users who profit at others' expense.

User Responsibilities

  • You are solely responsible for managing your blacklist
  • You understand that deleted history cannot be recovered
  • You will not use this extension for any illegal purposes
  • You acknowledge that browser updates may affect functionality

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

  • Any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Loss of data, privacy breaches not caused by our negligence
  • Any issues arising from third-party browser updates
  • Incomplete deletion of browsing traces due to browser limitations

No Guarantee of Privacy

While ButterFly helps manage your local browsing history, we cannot guarantee complete privacy. Your browsing data may still be visible to:

  • Your internet service provider
  • Network administrators
  • Other software on your device
  • Chrome sync (if enabled)

Refund Policy

  • 4-Year purchases: 30-day money-back guarantee
  • Monthly subscriptions: Cancel anytime; no refunds for partial months

Changes to Terms
